As President of ISOTT 1992, and on behalf of the ISOTT Executive Committee I wish to dedicate the 20th ISOTT meeting and this volume of Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology arising from it to Professor Gerhard Thews, as a sign of sincere gratitude for his outstanding contributions to the world of science in the area of oxygen transport to tissues. The subject of the present review is a book intriguing both by its title and layout. At the same time, its author, Andrzej Nowak, is a historian whose scientific achievement is rich and widely commented on. The first part of the reviewed work comprises ten intriguing conversations with outstanding Polish and foreign historians, held by Andrzej Nowak over the past thirty years, such as Piotr Wandycz, Richard Pipes, Henryk Samsonowicz, and Antony Polonski. The second part consists of Nowak’s original essays written between 2009 and 2019 and devoted to Polish history’s most critical topics, with special emphasis on the history of the twentieth century.

The paper reviews the first attempts to study the educational and psychological usefulness of robotics: (1) the social and cooperative dimensions involved in the robot-building activities; (2) the reasoning strategies implied in building and programming robots; (3) the influences of robotics on mathematical and scientific achievement; (4) the use of robotics in modification of social skills of autistic children.

W treści artykułu postawiono nacisk na swobodę wyboru formy aktywności naukowej dla kandydata do tytułu profesora, jaka wynika z treści ustawy. Ustawodawca użył złożonej normy prawnej dla ustalenia kryteriów dla kandydata do tytułu profesora. Może ona budzić wątpliwości zarówno praktyczne, jak i teoretyczne
